HI THERE!

The Times They Are A-Changing!

We have big plans for this little space of internet, and we want to start sharing them with you ASAP, but to do so nice and swiftly we’re going to have to shut up shop for a couple of weeks.

As we get older, we’re learning more and more about the world around us, becoming increasingly aware and passionate about certain issues. It’s only natural that this blog, an extension of us, should develop as we do. It is for this reason that we’ve decided to completely revamp it, making sure that Bella & Woodstock truly aligns with our values and goals, namely living a more mindful lifestyle.

There will still be fashion and food and travel, it will just look a little different and have some added extras.

Expect new content in mid- November. We’ll let you know the date very soon.

Yip yay yeehah, we’re so excited! Hope you are too!!

brb.

All the love,

Jess and Ruby xx

Hi guys!

We’re super excited/pumped/happy to introduce you to a new monthly segment on le blog: HOME SCHOOL. Written very prettily above by our favourite designing lady, Angie Garland– thanks girl!!

As her beautiful banner suggests, this segment is all about learning at home. We’re keen to start filling our increasingly lazy brains with lots of fun knowledge/skills/arty stuff and we thought we’d invite you along for the ride. Re-watching Lost on Netflix is great, but learning is better and way more valuable in the long run. It can actually be really fun too, if you’re learning what you actually want to learn- which we will be! Woohooh!

Basically, it’s going to work like this: each month we will announce a new skill we’d like to learn. This could be anything from speaking a foreign language to baking a loaf of sourdough! Once we’ve decided on a topic, we will do 4 related posts (that’s one a week), working through some activities and sharing our learning process. For example, if we were decided to learn Arabic, we might spend one week learning the Arabic alphabet, the second week getting to know the Arabic arts scene (famous films, artists, musicians, and literature), the third working on some basic phrases and sentence construction, and then the fourth cooking a Middle Eastern recipe. Perhaps? Just an example!

Anyway, we’d love for you all to get involved (if you want to… haha you don’t have to!) by following along and keeping us updated on your progress. We’re all for contributions too, so if you have something you think would be fun to learn, or suggestions on how we might approach learning something, please don’t hesitate to tell us!

This month we’re learning to PRESERVE fruit and veg in a bunch of different ways. Yum yay ooh!

See you soon!

Favourites / Life / Personal

LISTENING//Jess: This month I’ve reignited a past obsession with George Harrison’s album All Things Must Pass. He’ll always be my favourite Beatle <3.
Ruby: I’ve been listening to the DJ Porter Robinson a lot lately. It helps get me pumped up for the day.

WATCHING//I’ve been re-watching Lost. It’s actually so bloody good/addictive.
Ruby: My housemates and I watched the whole season of the new show Narcos on Netfilx recently. It was a house wide hangover day.

READING//I’m currently reading and loving David Lamb’s The Arabs: Journeys Beyond the Mirage. Really interesting and informative for someone as clueless about Middle Eastern history and culture as me.
Ruby: The other week I read #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso. It was super inspiring and full of some amazing quotes that are now on my wall.

WEARING//My funky sandals from Teva. So adorable and comfy.
Ruby: Definitely my Banana Republic Knit. It’s getting cold so all my knits are now in full action!

EATING//A whole lotta coconut ice-cream. With fresh mango. Sunshine is here so Imma pretend like it’s summer already.
Ruby: I made Vietnamese rice paper rolls the other day for the first time in ages and they did not disappoint!

All the Love,

Jess & Ruby
